Welcome to West London Sharks
The Premier Amatuer Rugby League Club in West London
Following our most successful season in our ten year history, where our second team were London League champions, our Ladies won both their League and the inaugural women’s national conference title and our first team were unbeaten winners of the Premier Conference South and losing National Finalists, we are now entering into the 2009 season with entry into the Challenge Cup. Sharks were also awarded the RFL Conference Club of the Year 2008 award, the second time we have won this award in the last five years.
West London Sharks currently run three teams, including two senior men’s teams, one senior ladies team. We are currently recruiting players for the 2009 season, so please give Lou Latter a call on 07703 438 935 for further information.
History
The Sharks are now entering into the sixth season at Grasshoppers RFC. Our player base is an eclectic mix of southerners, northern exiles, SRL players, union converts and southern hemisphere players. All ages (over 16) and abilities are welcome.
This West London club was one of the founding nine teams of the pilot Summer Conference competition in 1997. Proposed as a merger between two established London ARL clubs, Brent Ealing and the London Colonials, West London effectively a new entity from the start.
The club became the Sharks for the renamed Rugby League Conference in 1998 and the London Broncos briefly ran the club as their ‘alliance’ team. We aim to guarantee a game to all players of all standards, with an additional social side entered into the London ARL competition which runs alongside the national Rugby League Conference.
